Unidentified persons have vandalised electrical cables and wiring at the dental clinic of the Taraba State Specialist Hospital, Jalingo.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Buma Bordiya, disclosed this on Monday in Jalingo, describing the incident as unfortunate and condemnable.
Dr. Bordiya said the damaged items included cables and electrical installations at the dental clinic, stressing that the facility reflects the state government’s commitment to improving oral healthcare services for the people of Taraba State.

According to him, acts of vandalism undermine government efforts to expand access to quality healthcare across the state and disrupt service delivery.
He confirmed that the incident has been reported to the police and that investigations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible.

The commissioner reiterated the state government’s determination to provide world-class healthcare services to its citizens, assuring that the ongoing renovation of the specialist hospital would continue.

He added that security measures around the hospital have been strengthened to prevent a recurrence and called on community leaders, stakeholders, and members of the public to collaborate with the government in safeguarding public infrastructure.
