Support Taraba Gov’s cleanliness Initiative – Iliya Kefas

The Executive Chairman, Taraba State Environmental Sanitation Agency, Hon. Iliya Kefas has stressed the need for the people of the State to support the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas in his administration’s policy and initiative of maintaining a healthy and clean environment in this year, 2026.
Kefas, who made the call while speaking exclusively with our Correspondent in Jalingo, said it is mandatory to imbibe the culture of living in a clean and healthy environment.
According to him, a clean environment is not only healthy and wealthy, the adage, cleanliness is next to Godliness must not be compromised.

While calling on leaders appointed to pilot the affairs of their various positions to lead by example, Iliya Kefas said leaders are pace setters, they must set the ball rolling, they are expected to rise to their duties’ challenges with a view to justifying the confidence reposed in them.
Our Correspondent revealed that Hon. Iliya Kefas (Alhaji) was recently appointed by Governor Kefas to man the affairs of the State Environmental Sanitation Agency as Chairman.
Appointed with him were the representatives of some core Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), like the State Ministry of Environment, Rural and Urban Development and Waste Management. Religious bodies, security agencies and Coordinators from the 16 LGAs of the State were included.

Iliya Kefas was seen this morning carrying a shovel and head pan, removing, cleaning and dumping waste materials from a gutter opposite the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the road leading to the State Secretariat gate in Jalingo.
When contacted in an interview, he responded that he derives joy, working alongside with his workers.
“The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas gave me this appointment as Chairman because he saw the passion in me, the ability to work hard has been in me, he saw leadership by example in me”, he said.
Iliya Kefas however, reiterated the need for leaders to imbibe the culture and spirit of leading by example.
He also called on the people of the State to support Governor Agbu Kefas for him to succeed saying, Governor Kefas meant well for the people of the State.
