Haj. Zainab (Aunty Zee), puts smiles on faces of 400 Taraba women with cash donations

The Deputy National Women leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, in her resolve towards softening the hardships of widows, less privileged and vulnerable persons in Taraba State experience, has empowered about 400 women across the Northern Senatorial zone of the state with cash donations.

Our Correspondent gathered that, Haj Zainab Ibrahim, popularly known as Aunty Zee organized an Empowerment programme where women in their thousands, who came from Karim Lamido, Lau, Ardo-Kola, Zing, Yorro and Jalingo local government areas of the State received cash donations of N20,000.00 each.
Speaking during the programme held Monday at Unity House in Jalingo, Haj. Ibrahim said the event, “Women Rural Empowerment programme” was organized by the office of the Deputy National Women leader of APC and in partnership with the Chinese Embassy.
Describing the programme as a celebration of women resilience, productivity and economic strength to Taraba and Nigeria at large, Haj. emphasized that the empowerment programme was proudly supported by Chinese Embassy and designed to empower 400 women with the sum of N20,000.00 each.
“This is to scale up their existing businesses. These are women who are already contributing meaningfully to their families, communities and the economy of Taraba State”,

“Let me clearly state that empowerment is not a charity. Empowerment is investment in families, communities in Taraba State and the future of Nigeria. When you empower a woman, you empower a household, you empower a community and fortunately the nation”, she said.
She further disclosed that the initiative aligns strongly with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his renewed hope agenda and that of his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and her Renewed Hope Initiative.
She also acknowledged the leadership of the State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas and his wife, for their commitment to bringing development and people oriented governance to the State.
“As loyal members and stakeholders of the APC, we remain committed to the values of inclusion, unity, and service to the people. APC continues to stand as a party that empowers and strengthens women at the grassroots level”,
Calling on the beneficiaries to use the support wisely, Haj. urged them to be disciplined, focused and determined in all they do.
In an interview with journalists shortly, the State Chairman of APC, Bar. Ibrahim Tukur El-sudi described the empowerment programme as timely.

El-sudi said Haj. Ibrahim went to the Chinese Embassy and told them about the plight of Taraba women.
“They heeded to her request and magnanimously released some funds to her.
She has come to practically demonstrate the fact that she has sympathy for the down throdden. And you can see women have converged to receive stipends, of N20,000.00 each. It’s not a small thing at this critical period,” he said.
El-sudi however called on other politicians, philanthropists to emulate Haj. Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim so as to assist the less privileged persons in the society.
Also speaking in an interview, one of the beneficiaries, Jummai D. Linus from Lau local government area of the State, lauded the philanthropic life of Haj. Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim calling on God to bless her.
Our Reporter also informed that the State Commissioners of Social Justice, Women and Child Development, Dr. Filister Irarimam Musa and Mary Sinjen respectively, including APC critical stakeholders who spoke during the programme, all commended Haj Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim for the gesture.
