Your contributions inspire MNJTF unwavering commitment to regional peace – Gen Ali

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has lauded the troops for their bravery and sacrifice in the relentless pursuit of peace and stability in the Lake Chad Basin (LCB) region.


The Force Commander, Major General Ibrahim Ali, on October 11 and 12, 2024 presented compensation to the families of fallen heroes and wounded soldiers in ceremonies held in Mora, Cameroon, and Maiduguri respectively.

He paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers killed or wounded during an offensive Operation Lake Sanity 2 in the lake Chad Basin.

He emphasized that their actions are a reminder of the heavy price paid for freedom and that their legacies will forever serve as a guiding light in the continued fight for peace in the Lake Chad region.

Major General Ali while reflecting on the supreme sacrifice of the soldiers, reaffirms MNJTF unwavering commitment to the peace and security, which they stood for.

“Your loved ones served with honor and distinction, and their contributions to this noble cause will never be forgotten,” he added.

 

General Ali encouraged the families of the fallen heroes to take solace in knowing their loved ones died with honour while contributing to the region’s stability.

Major General Ali also commended the wounded soldiers for their bravery, noting that their sacrifices are a testament to their dedication to the mission.

 

“Your resilience inspires us all,” he said, pledging the MNJTF’s unwavering support for their recovery and reaffirming the force’s commitment to eradicating Boko Haram terrorists.

In Mora, the event opened with a moment of silence for the fallen, led by Colonel Tookap Pierre Loti, Commander of Sector 1, who praised the soldiers as heroes and valiant martyrs.

Ali, a major General then delivered compensation tokens to the beneficiaries, acknowledging the high price paid for freedom.

In Maiduguri, Brigadier General Mohammed Babayo, Commander of Sector 3, expressed his deepest condolences, recognizing that no amount of compensation can truly honor the supreme sacrifice.

However, he emphasized the importance of the gesture in supporting the bereaved during their difficult time.

Major General Ali, alongside senior officers, including Major General Waidi Shaibu, Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, distributed compensation to the beneficiaries.

Major General Ali praised the troops’ relentless efforts in ensuring peace and stability across the Lake Chad Basin.

He reassured the families that their loved ones died with honor, contributing to regional security, and pledged the MNJTF’s continued support to the wounded in their recovery.

The Force Commander also reaffirmed the force’s commitment to defeating Boko Haram terrorists.

The bereaved families, represented by Mrs. Afusat Abubakar, expressed their gratitude for the MNJTF’s support and recognition of the sacrifices made in securing peace in the region.
