Yobe Wins Multiple Honours at 47th Kaduna International Trade Fair

Yobe State received multiple honours at the closing ceremony of the 47th Kaduna International Trade Fair in recognition of its outstanding participation and contributions.
The trade fair, themed “From Reforms to Results: Economic Transformation through Sustained Local Content Development,” showcased investment opportunities and economic prospects across participating states and organisations.
The Yobe State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Solid Minerals, Rt. Hon. Kaigama Umar, was honoured with several awards for the state’s exceptional performance.
He was represented at the ceremony by the Director of Commerce, Audu Abubakar Daya, who received the awards on behalf of the Yobe State Government.
Speaking at the event, Daya expressed appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni for his visionary leadership and sustained support, which he said have enabled the state to achieve remarkable milestones in commerce and industrial development.
He also commended the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA) for organising the trade fair, describing it as a vital platform that brings together government officials, business leaders and industry stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond.
Yobe State received the awards for Best State Exhibitor, Best Comprehensive Pavilion, and Best Supportive and Consistent State.
At the event, Potiskum Local Government Area was recognised with the Best Fabricator and Agricultural Equipment Award, alongside a Certificate of Participation for its active involvement and impressive exhibition.
In his remarks, the President of KADCCIMA, Alhaji Farouk Suleiman Farsman, described the Kaduna International Trade Fair as one of Africa’s most prominent trade exhibitions, noting that the 10-day event recorded significant participation from federal and state governments, as well as private sector stakeholders.
He added that the fair also attracted international participants from countries including Uganda, Bangladesh, Togo and Malaysia, who expressed interest in exploring business and investment opportunities with Nigerian partners.
Farsman further noted that the event featured cultural exhibitions, including Dambe, the traditional Hausa boxing, and other indigenous performances aimed at promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.
He announced that the 48th edition of the Kaduna International Trade Fair is scheduled to hold from March 26 to April 3, 2027.
