Yobe Commissioner Receives Katsina Delegation on Study Tour of Modern Market Infrastructure

The Yobe State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Solid Minerals, Rt. Hon. Kaigama Umar, has received a high-powered delegation from Katsina State on a study tour aimed at understudying Yobe’s modern market infrastructure and commercial development initiatives.
The delegation was led by the Katsina State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Hon Yusuf Rabiu Jirdede.
The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Yobe State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Solid Minerals as part of the tour.
Members of the delegation included Alhaji Mustapha Bala Batsari, Special Adviser, Department of Markets Development; Alhaji Nuhu Aliyu, Director, Technical Services and Markets Development; and other senior technical officials from Katsina State.
They were received by Rt. Hon. Kaigama Umar alongside the Director of Commerce, Abdullahi Abubakar Daya; Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Yusuf Alhaji Jaji; and Director of Industry, Hajiya Asmau Aliyu Suleiman.
The study visit was informed by the interest shown by the Katsina State Government in the modern market infrastructure developed by the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni, with a view to studying the models for possible adaptation.
During the tour, the delegation visited the Ibrahim Gaidam Ultra-Modern Market, Damaturu; Yobe Sesame Seeds Processing Company, Damaturu; Potiskum Modern Market; Potiskum Trailer Park; and Ngalda Modern Market, where they observed facilities designed to enhance commercial activities and economic growth.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Yusuf Rabiu Jirdede expressed admiration for the strides recorded by Yobe State in the commercial sector.
“We are impressed by the commitment of the Yobe State Government towards improving and boosting economic activities through modern market infrastructure,” he said.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Kaigama Umar commended the Katsina State Government for choosing Yobe as a reference point for best practices in market development and assured the delegation of the ministry’s continuous efforts to strengthen commerce and investments across the state.
