Workers Day: TUC request Govt. intervention in mobility, Payment of over 1 billion back log issues

Trade Union Congress (TUC) Taraba State Chapter has requested the Government of Taraba State led by Dr. Agbu Kefas to swiftly intervene in the mobility issue of the Union to facilitate their day to day activities.
The Union also urged the Governor to intervene by paying the back log which has amounted to over one billion naira.
Chairman of the TUC Taraba State Chapter Comrade Sule Abasu made the requests on behalf of his Union Members during the occasion of the of the 2025 May Day Celebration held at Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo Taraba State.
He stated that as Organized Labour, they are constrained in their daily operations due to absence of good mobility, adding that, there was urgent need for government’s intervention to boost their operations.
“As Organized Labour, we are pleading with His Excellency, the people’s Governor to look into the problem of outstanding check of dues, welfare and multiple deductions which were not remitted by the Office of the Accountant General of the State.
“Note that, the Organized Labour has made frantic efforts for it to be paid but to no avail.
We therefore, urged the Governor to intervene by paying the said back log which has amounted to over one billion naira”, he stated.
He however, commended Gov. Kefas for his commitment to the cause of education, security, workers welfare, infrastructure, job creation, food security among other key aspects.
