WIKKI FC BEATS ABIA WARRIORS 1-0

Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi over the weekend continue its unbeaten run in the 2025/26 NPFL after narrowly, securing a massive 1-0 victory over Abia Warriors and move up to 2nd place on the league table.

The match played before thousands of football fans at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, saw the first half ended goalless which paved way for the two teams to make some changes.
It took just 13 minutes for Jonathan Mairiga to make his presence felt after coming off the bench in the second half, where he scored the decisive goal in the 78th minute from an assist by Saifullahi calmly finishing to send the Bauchi faithful fans into celebration.
In a post match interview, Coach Abdu Maikaba confessed it was a hard game for his side.
“This was a big test for us. Abia Warriors are a continental team with experience and structure. I didn’t expect it to be easy, but my boys were disciplined and showed real character. They earned this win”, the Wikki Tourists gaffer reiterated.
Wikki Tourists are now 2nd on the NPFL table, with seven points from three matches and heading for back-to-back away games to Nasarawa United in Lafia on 14/9/25,and Katsina United on 21/9/25 respectively.
