West Ham Dashes Arsenal’s Hope

Arsenal’s hope of challenging the English Barclay Premier League leader Liverpool FC have been dealt a heavy blow by West Ham United in a match where the gunners did not turn up based on the mediocre performance they displayed against their visitors.


The damaging result has extinguished every firepower momentum the gunners seek to mount to catch up with Liverpool which as things stand following their 2-0 victory against Manchester City seem to have run away with the title.

The story is always the same year in and year out with Arsenal, collapsing at a critical period and until the team prioritize hiring experience players who know what it takes to win trophies, the gunners will always be a contender with nothing to show at the end.

Liverpool FC have continued to show class in differentiating between men and the boys as the Anfield landlord travelled to Etihad stadium to take on Pep Guardiola Manchester City knowing fully well that if they beat their host, they will extend the gap between their closet rival Arsenal to eleven and that they did in an impressive fashion sweeping Manchester City aside and are now running away with the title.

Everton on the other hand were robbed by the poor decision both from VAR and the center referee who after awarding Everton a penalty after Manchester United defender De Ligt clearly held Ashley Young in the eighteen yard box later rescinded his decision which infuriated the Toffees fans.

Everton have been leading the match 2-0 but Manchester United Mount a comeback to level the match to two all draw through a well taken free kick by their captain, Bruno Fernandez and Ugarte fine strike outside the eighteen yard box.

Chelsea continued their under par performance as Aston Villa came from behind to beat the Enzo Marasca boys 2-1 with Marcus Rashford being the architecture of Aston Villa’s comeback setting Asencios up for the two goals.

Wolves continued to fight the battle of their lives as they seek to avoid relegation with a 1-0 win against AFC Bournemouth while Tottenham Hotspur hammer Ipswich Town 4-1 as Nothingham Forest lost 3-4 against Newcastle United.

Leicester were beaten four nil by Brentford with Southampton demolished 5-0 by Brighton Albion.

In the Spanish LA Liga FC Barcelona continued to maintain their grip at the top of the league with 2-0 win against Las Palmas while Real Madrid leapfrogged Atletico Madrid to the second position on the same point with the league leader.

Atletico Madrid had earlier climbed top of the league after beating Valencia 3-0.
Athletic Bilbao showed no mercy as they demolished Real Valladolid 7-1, while Real Sociedad beat Laganes 3-0 as Gatafe lost 2-1 to Real Betis.

In the Italian Serie A, Cesc Fabregas Como stunned Napoli 2-1 while AC Milan suffered similar faith in the hand of Torino but the story was different for Atalanta which seems to have put behind the disappointment of their champion league exit as they hammered their host Empoli 5-0 with Ademola Lookman getting a brace.

Inter Milan laboured to a hard 1-0 win over Patrick Viara’s Genoa while Juventus continued their surge with a 1-0 win against cagliari.

In the German Bundesliga, Bayern Munich has opened up a eight points gap on top of the league table as they beat Eintrach Frankfurt 4-0 while their closet rival Bayern Leverkusen also defeated their host Holstein Kiel 2-0.

Borussia Dortmund hammered Union Berlin 6-0 as Bayern Monchenglabach were beaten 3-0 by FC Augsburg.
