VGN Intercepts Large Quantity of Illicit Drugs in Jalingo, Arrests Suspect

The Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Taraba State Command, has intercepted a large quantity of illicit substances suspected to be Indian hemp (cannabis) during a strategic operation in Jalingo, the state capital.
According to the Operations Unit of the VGN, the interception followed credible intelligence on the movement of illegal drugs within the state.
Operatives acted swiftly and successfully stopped the shipment before it could be distributed, leading to the arrest of one suspect in connection with the consignment.
The suspect, along with the recovered substances, has been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commending the operation, the State Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Taraba State, Bello Arabi, praised the commitment and courage of the officers involved.
He described the seizure as a significant contribution to the fight against insecurity in the state.
Arabi noted that drug abuse remains a major factor contributing to criminal activities in society, stressing that removing such substances from circulation helps prevent crime.
He urged all VGN personnel to remain vigilant and intensify their efforts in combating drug-related offences.
The Commander also reaffirmed the VGN’s commitment to continued collaboration with formal security agencies, particularly the NDLEA, to ensure the safety and well-being of residents of Taraba State.
The operation underscores the ongoing efforts of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria to support law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and security across the state.
