Troops Arrest Suspected Gunrunner, Recover Submachine Gun in Taraba

The troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/ Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have apprehended a suspected gunrunner, Alhaji Adamu Usman, and recovered an illegally fabricated submachine gun from his possession.
This is contained in a Press Release by Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations of the 6 Brigade.
“Acting on credible intelligence, on 13 January 2025, troops swiftly launched a carefully planned operation at the suspect’s residence in Maraban Gassol of Gassol Local Government Area.
“During the search, troops discovered one fabricated Submachine Gun, which is believed to be connected to illegal arms trafficking activities”.
Speaking on the successful operations, the Commander, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa commended the gallantry and professionalism displayed by the troops and reassured the people of Taraba State of the Brigade’s resolve to continue to maintain peace and combat illicit arms proliferation within the State.
The Release urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies to enable them to effectively address security challenges.
