TRIBUTE: Hon. Danji Usman Mourns the Tragic Death of Angyu Siman Bala, Demands Justice for Victims of Insecurity

In a solemn and emotionally charged statement, Hon. Danji Usman has paid tribute to his fallen comrade in the political struggle for justice and good governance, the late Angyu Siman Bala, who was tragically killed along the notorious Wukari–Tsokundi road.

Describing the late Bala as “a man of quiet strength, humility, deep integrity, and a loyal friend,” Hon. Danji lamented the growing insecurity in the region, which has continued to claim innocent lives without consequence.
“Your sudden death is not only a personal loss to your family and loved ones,” Hon. Danji said, “but a painful reminder of the insecurity that has gripped our roads and communities.”
In his prayerful message, he called on God to grant the deceased eternal peace and to comfort the bereaved family with strength and grace during this time of sorrow.
However, the tribute went beyond mourning. It became a bold call for accountability and action:
“Angyu did not die by natural cause. He was a victim of violence and brutality of a system that has grown far too silent in the face of evil,” Hon. Danji declared.
The Wukari–Tsokundi road, where Bala was killed, has long been considered a hotspot for banditry and violent attacks. Many residents and travelers in Southern Taraba have raised repeated alarms over the dangers of the route, yet the killings persist.
Hon. Danji Usman issued a strong appeal to the Taraba State Government, the Federal Government, and all relevant security agencies to:
Launch a full-scale investigation into the killings on the Wukari–Tsokundi axis, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators responsible for the attacks and implement lasting and effective security measures to safeguard lives in the region.
“This is not just about Angyu,” he stressed. “This is about the safety of every son, daughter, farmer, traveler, and family who deserve to live without fear.”
He warned that continued silence and inaction would only deepen public distrust and embolden criminal elements.
“Justice delayed is peace denied, and silence in the face of such brutality is complicity.”
Ending the message with a powerful benediction, Hon. Danji prayed:
“May Angyu’s death not be in vain. May it stir us from apathy and call us into action. And may God, in His righteousness, raise up justice where human systems have failed.”
The statement concluded with a final salute:
“Rest in peace, Angyu Siman Bala. We will remember, we will mourn, and we will speak—until justice is done.”
