Tinubu To Equip the Armed Forces – Defence Minister

The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has re-assured that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration will continue to equip and train Officers and Men of the Armed Forces to enhance their combat readiness.
The Minister gave the assurance while addressing Officers and Men of Operation Hadarin Daji at the 213 Forward Operating Base, Katsina during his first official visit to the base in Katsina.
He said President Tinubu’s administración has recorded tremendous successes in the fight against insurgency and other related crimes in the country.
Alhaji Badaru Abubakar commanded the Nigerian Armed Forces for their continue sacrifice and Patriotism and urged them to maintain the tempo.
The Minister said he has been fully briefed about the troops performance and assured that all the needed support will be provided to enable them discharge their constitutional mandate of defending the sovereignty and integrity of the Nation.
The Defence Minister used the opportunity to extend President Bola Tinubu’s heartfelt sympathy over the recent tragic death of some soldiers in Abia state, assuring that the culprits will be traced and brought to Justice.
Responding, the Commander, Air Component 213 Forward Operation Hadarin Daji Katsina, Air Commodore G I Jibia appreciated the Minister’s visit, which he said has further boost the moral of the troops.
The Minister had held an interactive discussions with the Officers and Men of the Headquarters of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji Katsina.
Mohammed Badaru also visited Nigerian Army Medical Center Katsina where he sympathised with Military Personnel who sustained various injuries during combat operations.
Meanwhile, the Defence Minister has assured the government and people of Katsina state that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue to do his best to secure Nigeria from all forms of security threats.
The Minister Stated this when he paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Dikko Umar Radda at the Government House Katsina as part of his official working visit to military formations in Katsina state.
Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar who was received by the Deputy Governor of the State, Alhaji Faruk Lawan, on arrival, explained the President is fully committed to crush and end all forms of insecurity nationwide.
He told the Governor that he came to Katsina State to visit troops in their formations, assess their operational capabilities and see how best to encourage them.
He pointed out that inview of the approaching farming season, there was need to collaborate to ensure that Farmers feel free to go to farms without being threatened by bandits.
The Minister explained the Ministry of Defence together with other Federal government defence related agencies will partner with the Katsina state Government to end insecurity in the state.
In his response, the Deputy Governor of Katsina state Alhaji Faruk Lawan on behalf of the state Governor extended his appreciation to the Ministry of Defence for its tireless and enduring support to Katsina state to end insecurity.
He explained that the visit of the Minister to the state came at the critical time of need when people are getting ready to be in farms.
