Tinubu Promises To Build a Well Equipped Army

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to building a well-equipped Army that will be a pride of the nation.
The President made the commitment during the grand finale of the Nigeria Army Day in Jos, Plateau State.
Represented by the Minister of Defense Mohammed Badaru Abubakar urged the Army to strive at sustaining the progress it is making to contend with violent groups and tasked them to remain professional in their operations.
The President announced the purchase of combat helicopters to strengthen the army and has equally approved life insurance to assist the families of deceased soldiers.
In his remarks, Chief of Army Staff, General Taofeed Lagbaja said the occasion also marked the one hundred and sixty one anniversary of the Nigerian Army and added that the Army has strived to protect the Nigerian territorial integrity.
He said all the operations of the Army are designed and deployed to protect the law-abiding Nigerians and has aligned itself with President Tinubu’s directive to deal decisively with security threats.
The General maintained that the army is committed to improving operational strategies to meet up with the security needs of the country.
He added that the army is combat-ready, and has sensitized troops to display a high level of professionalism in operation.
Lagbaja said he has built five hundred apartments to provide accommodations to soldiers who retired from service.
Highlights of the activities marking the grand finale of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration which was held at the Rukuba cantonment, Jos Plateau state include the display of the Nigerian Army gallantry and exhibition of the historical transformation of the Nigerian Army.
Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas was among dignitaries that attended the ceremony.
