TETfund has made progress under Tinubu – TETfund N/E BOT

The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) from Northeast region of Nigeria has stated that the Intervention has made progress in the education sector across the country since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office in 2023.

Senator Sani Abubakar Danladi, TEFfund BOT member, North East region stated this while delivering a speech at the TETFund’s 3 days’ town hall meeting for beneficiary institutions and stakeholders in the zone.
At the event held at Shield Hotel, Jalingo, Abubakar, who was former Senator for Northern Taraba Senatorial zone said the purpose of the town hall meeting was to enlighten and discuss with stakeholders, community leaders, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on vital issues concerning TETfund projects across the zone.
Senator Abubakar further told the gathering that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through his Renewed Hope Agenda has invested in the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) with a view to enhancing the education sector across the country.
“Since his inauguration in 2023, the BOT had pursued with vigour the Renewed Hope Agenda”,
“These Agenda led to the transformation of the tertiary education as a critical engine for growth, innovation and social transformation”, he said.
Sani Abubakar added that it was in the pursuit of the pillars of the Agenda that the TETFund BOT approved and implemented numerous ground breaking projects for the six geopolitical zones of the country.
He further informed the gathering that one of the most remarkable area TETFund made progress was in the area of a academic staff training and development of tertiary institutions in the country.
Senator Abubakar also disclosed that thousands of Lecturers of universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education across the country have benefited from the sponsorship, for their PhD and Masters programmes both locally and internationally.

According to him, in the area of infrastructural development, TETFund has continued to address what he described as glaring issues of construction and equipping of modern lecture theatres, laboratories, libraries, and ICT facilities.
“Several institutions have benefited from the new students’ hostels, and administrative buildings, some of which were delivered through Innovative Public Private Partnership”,
“These infrastructural interventions are not only pertaining physical landscape of the campuses, but enhancing the teaching and learning to meet international standard”, he added.
