Taraba Varsity VC tasks Muwanshat College on academic standard

The Vice Chancellor of the Taraba State University (TSU), Prof. Sunday Paul Bako has tasked the management and staff of Muwanshat College of Health Science and Technology, Jalingo on the need to run the college according to academic standard.

Prof. Bako made the remarks while speaking on the occasion of the 4th matriculation ceremony of the college held at the institution’s premises, Jalingo.
Represented by Prof. Reuben Jonathan, the State University boss said the reason why he advised Muwanshat College of Health Science and Technology to maintain academic standard as it pilots the affairs of the college was because such was the benchmark given by the National University Commission (NUC).
TSU boss who advised the management of the College to comply with the NUC directives, said compliance is imperative since some of the College’s degree programmes are being affiliated with the state University.
“If total compliance be upheld, more of the programmes will be given to the institution as affiliation to the State University. We have created a very good enabling environment to affiliate with Muwanshat College of Health Science and Technology Jalingo so that we can expand the scope of our admission”, he said.
Speaking earlier, the Provost, Muwanshat College of Health Science and Technology Jalingo, Abdulmajid Khalid expressed the institution’s profound gratitude to Prof. Bako for what he described as academic collaboration, mentorship and institutional support to the college.

Khalid said, about 126 students were matriculated into various degree programmes, which courses and programmes he posited, were affiliated with the State University.
He also commended the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for providing an enabling environment that made education, health, and institutional growth to thrive in the State.
He said the Governor’s administration to peace, development, and human capital advancement has continued to inspire confidence and progress among the people of the State.
Also applauded by the Provost were, the management of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, the Proprietor of the College, Alh. Umaru Yola, the Board Chairman, Dr. Garba Danjuma, management staff of the institution, among others.
Our Correspondent gathered that the college, a tertiary institution saddled with the responsibility of training health workers for health care delivery services to the people of the State matriculated about 341 students into the institution’s various programmes for 2025 and 2026 academic session.
“You are being matriculated into community health, Pharmacy Technician, Public health, Micro biology, Biotechnology, Social Sciences, and Computer Science”,
“These fields demand discipline, integrity, hard work and, compassion. You are expected to be diligent in your studies, respectful of your academic regulations, and conscious that knowledge without character is incomplete. Let me advise you, embrace learning with humility, pursue excellence with resilience, and remember always that the ultimate purpose of education is service”, he added.
