Taraba UBEB Staff Donates Books To Schools in Yangtu

Educational materials worth thousands of Naira has been donated to Primary Schools pupils in Yangtu Special Development Area of Taraba State.
The free Education books and writing materials which are to aid in their Education pursuits, were donated by the Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board, Engineer Urial Andekuba Yamusa.
It is a known fact that Education is a powerful tool that breaks the cycle of poverty and following the declaration of free Education policy by the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, many school drop outs have since returned to schools.
As a result, the need for individuals and critical stakeholders to step in cannot be overemphasize as many parents cannot afford some schools items due to the prevailing economic hardships in the country.
Donating the Educational materials to head teachers for onward delivery to the pupils, the donor, Engineer Urial Andekuba Yamusa said his gesture is to complement the effort of the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas for the success of his free Education policy.
He expressed optimism that the gesture will be a catalyst in boosting the academic performance of the pupils.
He caution teachers to remain committed to their duties as teams from the educational sector will come for inspection periodically.
Head teachers and other speakers as well as some of the pupils who bared their minds, commended the donor, Engineer Urial Andekuba Yamusa for remembering his communities while appealing to other stakeholders in the area to be sensitive to the needs of their communities.
Speaking in an interview with TV Taraba News, the Acting Executive Secretary, Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board, Mrs Rabi Sunday appealed to other Directors in the board to borrow a leaf from Engineer Urial Andekuba Yamusa and do same for their communities to complement the free Education policy as well as put smiles on the faces of the pupils.
She tasked teachers in the state to rise up to their statutory responsibilities with all seriousness to achieve the set goals of the free Education policy of the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas.
Primary Schools that benefited from the, Engineer Urial Andekuba Yamusa free Educational materials are, Bika Baba, Bika Lupwe, Akatso and Kwendak Primary Schools.
Items donated includes Textbook Pencils, Biros, Erasers, Rulers and Sharpeners among others.
