Taraba Transport Corporation Mgt, Receives New Board Members

The Chairman of the newly inaugurated board of the Taraba Transport Corporation, TSTC Hon Daniel Emmanuel Angyu this Monday led other members on a familiarization visit to the Corporation, located along the airstrip in Jalingo, the State capital.
Welcoming the Chairman and the board members, the General Manager of the Corporation, Engr Ahmed Ishiyaku Nyangdi noted that the Agency has been dormant for decades, commending Governor Agbu Kefas for taking a bold step to turn things around in the Agency.
He however, expressed optimism that with the calibre of people on the board, there is hope of its revival.
The General Manager assured the new board of the support and cooperation of the management and staff to enable the Agbu Kefas administration to achieve its desire for the transport sector.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the TSTC board, Hon Daniel Emmanuel Angyu thanked Governor Agbu Kefas for appointing them to serve in his government, promising to justify the confidence reposed in them.
He explained that the visit is to acquaint the board with the challenges and prospects of the Agency and fashion out ways to effectively to work towards revitalizing the transport sector of Taraba State in line with the vision of the Governor.
Two members of the board, Hon Terna Nzamber and Alhaji Nuhu Nguroje, called for the unity of purpose, patience and the fear of God in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The Chairman and board members were later conducted round the facilities and premises of the Agency by the General Manager, Engr Ahmed Ishiyaku Nyangdi where he highlighted some of the challenges facing the Corporation and its potentials to contribute greatly to the development of the state and its economy.
Addressing the staff of the Corporation, the Chairman commended them for their resilience and patience in the face of the pressing challenges.
He assured that the Board will do everything within its mandate and the support of the Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas to return the Company to its past glory.
Hon Daniel Angyu announced that the Board is planning to hold discussions with the vehicle owners who are operating in the Company to see to the possibility of assisting the Taraba Government to operate a transport system that will be of economic benefit to the state government and its citizens.
