Taraba Tiv Community Congratulates New CAN Chairman

The Tiv Culture and Social Association (TCSA) the umbrella body of the Tiv Community in Taraba State has congratulated Rev. Dr William Awoshiri who emerged as the new State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)

In a statement issued on Friday and made available to newsmen in Jalingo, Chief James Baka, President General of the TCSA said the emergence of Awoshiri did not come to the community as a surprise.
Baka noted that his wealth of experience in priesthood as well as a university teacher would translate into engendering unity among the christian denominations in the state.
He noted that the emergence of Awoshiri was timely especially at the time the CAN’s unity was being threatened in the state.
He pledged the unalloyed support of the Tiv community in fostering peace and unity among various church denominations in the state.
He also assured the new CAN Chairman of every support required for him to succeed, advising him to embrace all blocks in the state.
Rev. Dr Awoshiri emerged as the new CAN State Chairman during its delegate conference in Jalingo on Thursday.
