Taraba Sports Commissioner Receives New SWAN Officials

The Taraba State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Amb. Joseph Joshua has granted audience to the newly elected State Officials of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN in his office.

Receiving the officials, the Commissioner reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining its partnership with the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN in the state.

 

Amb. Joseph Joshua congratulated the leadership of SWAN for their victory and emphasized the need to strengthen the working relationship between the Ministry and SWAN.

 

He urged sports writers to improve on their reporting of sporting events across the state, considering the state government’s active involvement in organizing, hosting, and attending competitions in various sports over the past year.

 

Amb. Joseph Joshua also highlighted the current administration’s focus on prioritizing the sports sector to create job opportunities for the youth across the state under Governor Agbu Kefas.

 

He also encouraged the leadership of SWAN to always reach out to the permanent Secretary whenever needed especially when he could not be reached.

 

The newly elected Taraba State Chairman of SWAN, Comrade Sulaiman Sani, had expressed their intention to strengthen the existing cordial working relationship with the Ministry, assuring of improved publicity for sporting activities in the state.

 

Comrade Sani extended his commendation to Governor Agbu Kefas for his passion for sports development in the state and also lauded the appointment of Amb. Joseph Joshua as a Commissioner, in view of his vast knowledge, experience, and contributions to youth development.

 

The SWAN Chairman later presented a letter of Commendation to the Commissioner for his efforts in collaboration with other stakeholders to ensure that the EndBadGovernance protests were done peacefully in an orderly manner by the Taraba Youth, adding that it is worthy of emulation.
