Taraba Security: Troops Rescues 50 kidnap victims, Neutralises 100 criminals – General Uwa

Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, OWS, rescued 50 kidnap victims and neutralized 100 criminals in Taraba State in 2024.
The Commander of the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Taraba State, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, disclosed this during the presentation of the Crime Fighter Award to him by the Management of Worldview Magazine, led by the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief, Mr Williams Ayooso at the Brigade’s headquarters in Jalingo, Taraba State capital.
The commander stressed the military’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all the residents of Taraba State.
According to him, the Army remains determined to create an environment where citizens can sleep with their two eyes closed and equally carry out their legitimate businesses without fear of attacks by criminal elements.

General Uwa, however, called for collective efforts to tackle the security challenges facing the state, urging all stakeholders to contribute to the fight against criminal activities.
He also commended journalists in the state for what he described as their balanced reportage, encouraging them to continue their professional conducts in the overall interest of peace and development of the State and country at large.
Presenting the award, the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Worldview Magazine, Mr Williams Ayooso, said the recognition followed the commander’s track records in fighting insecurity and crime in the state, stressing that his previous command responsibilities presents him as a man of proven track records.
He noted that the award is presented to serve as a morale booster for the Brigade Commander and the military in general.
Mr Williams Ayooso, pledged the readiness of the magazine to give the brigade the needed publicity.
“This is the best way journalists can complement the security of lives and property.”
In his remarks, the Taraba State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Mr Mathew Eliud Jen, said the council and indeed Journalists in the state are in agreement with the decision of the publishers of Worldview Magazine to honor the commander for a job well done in Taraba State.
He pointed out that the commander and heads of other security outfits in the state are doing well, urging them to continue their efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
