Taraba Security: COMMANDER 6 BRIGADE TOURS REMOTE COMMUNITIES, ASSURES TARABANS OF SAFETY

The Commander, 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa has conducted operational visits to several remote towns in Lau and Karim-Lamido Local Government Areas of Taraba State.

In a Press Statement in Jalingo, the state capital, Lieutenant Oni Olubodunde, Acting Assistant Director 6 Brigade Army Public Relations said the visit was to reassure the local population of the unwavering commitment of troops to securing the citizens and to strengthen the partnership between the Nigerian Army and the communities to flush out criminal elements hibernating within the general area.

 

“During the visit, the Commander held meetings with local leaders, community members and key stakeholders to address ongoing security concerns and discussed collaborative efforts towards maintaining peace and stability in the region.


“The visit became necessary following the gruesome murder of Chief of Gidan Usmanu Village, Alhaji Auwal Wali, who was tragically murdered in his residence by suspected bandits”.

Brigadier General Uwa emphasized the crucial role of the people of Karim-Lamido in supporting the brigade’s operations.

 

“We are here to express our condolences to the people of Gidan Usmanu and also to reaffirm our commitment to the safety and well-being of the people of Taraba State,”. “Your support is invaluable to our mission, and we will continue to work together to ensure a secure environment for all residents”.


He encouraged the community to report suspicious activities in the area for prompt response.

 

In their separate remarks, the Chairman of Karim-Lamido Local Government, Hon. Britus Dan-Jos and the Chief of Wurkun District expressed gratitude for the military’s continuous support and commended the strong relationship between the military and the people of Karim-Lamido.

“We appreciate your dedication and look forward to continued collaboration,” the leaders remarked.

 

The Commander also paid a condolence visit to the residence of the Chief of Gidan Usmanu, where he commiserated with the bereaved families.


He assured of the commitment of 6 Brigade in collaboration with other security agencies to hunt down the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
