Taraba School Of Health Tech, Holds Matriculation Ceremony

The Management of the School of Health and Technology, Takum in Taraba State has again reiterated its commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for students of the institution to ensure academic excellence.
The Provost of the institution, Dr Wama Binga Emmanuel stated this during the matriculation ceremony of the newly admitted students of the institution, held at the School premises in Takum, the administrative headquarters of Takum local government area of the state.
Dr Wama Binga Emmanuel congratulated the new intake, reminding them to see their admission as a well deserved achievement and recognition as it marks the beginning of their transformation journey.

According to her, the institution will not only equip them with academic knowledge and technical skills but will also instill in them moral values, discipline, integrity and professionalism toward a better health care delivery service.
The Provost said the college has introduced new programmes which includes, Epidemiology, Disease control and Dispensing Optician which she said is the part of the institution’s continued efforts to respond to evolving healthcare needs of the society and to align with global best practices in health education and human resources development.
Speaking further, the Provost urged the new students to be focused, maintain their integrity and always respect the rules and values that govern the academic community.
Also speaking, the Taraba State Commissioner of health, Dr Bodiya Burma who was represented by Dr Chufor K. Harmony also congratulated the new students, advising them to see their admission as a rare opportunity which they must guard jealously and be worthy ambassadors of the noble institution.
He urged them to take their academic activities seriously and shun all forms of social vices such as cultism, drug abuse, rape, thefts and other behaviors that could tarnish the good image of the college and derail their personal and professional future.
Dr Bodiya applauded the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas for approving various developmental projects in the institution, saying it is a welcome development for the health sector and a bold step toward strengthening the future of health care delivery in the state.
He equally commended the Provost for her visionary leadership and developmental strides, adding that her commitment to the growth of the institution is commendable while urging her to continue on the progressive path.
The Commissioner reminded staff of the institution to continue to uphold the ethics and responsibilities of the civil service, saying it is imperative for them to remain professional, punctual and dedicated in the discharge of their duties, warning that any form of laxity and negligence will not be tolerated as it will attract disciplinary measures inline with the civil service regulations.
Earlier, the Chairman Governing council of the institution, Mr Anthony David said the college of Health and Technology Takum is a beacon of hope in the professional training of health care practitioners, appreciating the Provost for her tireless dedication, foresight and developmental initiatives which he said has continued to move the institution forward, pledging the unwavering support of the Governing council for the Provost to succeed in her statutory responsibilities.
He lauded the Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas for his continued support and approval of key and critical projects which is transforming the institution into a modern health training institution, noting that the Governor’s effort is a reflection of a deep commitment to strengthened the health system through the training of competent, ethical and service driven health professionals.
