Taraba Revenue Board Chairman Advocates Annual Kefas Tennis Tournament

The Chairman of the Taraba State Board of Internal Revenue Services, Brigadier General Jeremiah Aliyu faransa (Rtd) has called for the institutionalization of the Kefas Medium Tennis Competition as an annual event.

General Faransa made this call in Wukari while speaking at the Southern Taraba Maiden Tennis Competition, organized by the Kefas Agbu Campaign Organization, Wukari.
He commended the various tennis clubs that converged in Wukari for the event, noting the impressive display of talents by participants.
According to him, such competitions are vital platforms for discovering and nurturing young talents who can represent Taraba State at national competitions.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the players and the standard of the matches played.
The retired general praised the Wukari Tennis Club for its role in producing professionals such as Coach Bulus and Joel Adi Gani.
He paid tribute to the individual who made “Scarface,” credited with bringing tennis to Wukari, and urged that the legacy should not be allowed to fade.
Describing Wukari as the home of tennis in Taraba State, General Faransa called for the renovation of the tennis facilities in the town to ensure they meet modern standards that can host future tournaments.
He emphasized that regular tournaments would not only boost Wukari’s local economy but also provide players with valuable experience.
He also expressed confidence in the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas, praising his demonstrated commitment to sports development in the state.
