Taraba: Positive Actions Required As The Churches Gather To Pray in Jalingo Over The Weekend

Taraba State is privileged this weekend to host very important personalities, Fathers of Faith and high profile leaders of prayer/ intercessory ministries that have been used by God to bring healing and interventions in the nation and in several situations across communities in our dear country. The General, our Father GEN. YAKUBU GOWON RTD, (GCFR) and the High Prophet of God, His Eminence Prophet Issa El-Buba.

These are not mean men in the work of the kingdom. And by divine Providence and God’s timing, H.E Dr Agbu Kefas is God’s anointed Servant of the Most High and the Executive Governor of Taraba State. This scenario is by no means an accident. It is a divine timing to bring to pass some predestined divine plans.

It is also a paradox, deeply regrettable that the Christendom is facing some of its worse internal crisis as a body of Christ.

Some Churches are currently under lock and key, a decision informed by continuous internal crisis and disagreements with some cases leading to bloodshed.

With the emergence of two Bishops out of one of our major denominations in the state whose membership are divided and have parted ways and separated due to unresolved disagreement and crisis.

Further to this, The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) our revered umbrella body for unity is currently under a caretaker committee due to postponed elections arising out of crisis. When the CAN elections will hold remains a subject of serious Concerns.

There is no doubt that a lot need to be addressed in the body of Christ in Taraba State. Perhaps this has informed God’s intervention plan for raising intercessors over the land in a very critical time like this.

Let me first of all thank H.E Dr Agbu Kefas for providing the enabling environment in terms of a secured state for these kind of events to take place in Taraba State.

Let me also appreciate the wisdom of the Governor for setting up two peace building Institutions in the State that i am convinced will soon be inaugurated to commence their activities. These are:
(1). The Taraba State Bureau For Peace and Conflict Management and
(2). The Taraba State Council For Interreligious Affairs.

This has not only demonstrated pragmatic leadership on the part of the Governor but a commitment for peace.

However, citizenship response to Government efforts can not be overemphasized hence the need for the Church in Taraba State to NOT ONLY PRAY BUT TO ACT POSITIVELY to ensure peace, harmony, reconciliation and forgiveness in the Churches and also in the immediate society and communities where these Churches draw membership.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE:
1. A TRUE DEMONSTRATION OF HUMILITY BY THE CHURCH LEADERS
2. A TRUE REPENTANCE BY THE CHURCH LEADERS
3. A PRACTICAL TURN AROUND AND TURNING AWAY FROM OUR WICKED WAYS
4. A GENUINE HUNGER, PRAYER AND SEEKING OF THE LORD’S FACE FOR HEALING IN THE CHURCHES AND IN THE LAND.

All above in line with 2 Chronicles 7:14.

FURTHER TO THIS:
The two visiting Generals in the Ministry of Prayer/Intercession that God have sent to the State in this critical moment should hold a joint brief session with the followings:
1. CAN Caretaker Committee
2. Key Heads of Denominations and
3. A few Bishops.

The interface should deliberately ignite some energy for further practical ways and means of getting to peace especially among the CAN & Church leadership in the State, including the Churches deeply embroiled in crisis.
