Taraba Polytechnic Student Electrocuted, Pleads for Government Assistanc

A Taraba State Polytechnic student, Iorhee Saanmoyol Paul, has been hospitalized after being electrocuted while displaying a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) flag to welcome Vice President Kashim Shettima to the Taraba State International Investment Summit in Jalingo.
Paul, a student of the School of Basic and Applied Sciences studying Epidemiology and Disease Control, is currently undergoing treatment at Gilead Hospital in Jalingo.
According to Paul, “I was flying the party’s flag to welcome our vice president, senator Kashim Shettima, just like a dream I discovered myself here in the hospital with this severe condition,” he said.
Paul, who is battling for his life, has appealed to the State government for assistance, citing the need for urgent transfer from the hospital for a better medical attention
Our Correspondent reports that, students and residents are urging the government to take immediate action to assist Paul and ensure that he receives the necessary medical attention.
The coordinator PDP Youths Movement who is also in charge of the mobilization for PDP Flying Flags (PDPFF) Hon. Iliya Kefas confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
Kefas said Paul was electrocuted while flying the PDP flag opposite Taraba State Polytechnic gate during the occasion of TARAVEST on Wednesday.
“Yes, the boy by name Paul was electrocuted during our exercise, he was rushed to a hospital, the government has taken over the hospital bill and is our prayers that he will survive from the accident,” he said.
