Taraba Peace Bureau Congratulates Newly Sworn-in Council Chairmen

The Chairman of the Taraba State Bureau for Peace and Conflict Management, TSBPCM, Bishop Innocent Rubiruka Solomon has congratulated the 16 newly elected Council Chairmen who were sworn-in on Tuesday by Governor Agbu Kefas.
The Chairman’s congratulatory message is contained in Press Release, a copy of which was obtained by Echo Express in Jalingo, the state capital.
“On behalf of the Taraba State Bureau for Peace and Conflict Management (TSBPCM), I extend our warmest congratulations to each of you on your recent election as Chairmen of the sixteen Local Government Councils in Taraba State. Your emergence is a testament to the trust and confidence reposed in your leadership by the people you have been chosen to serve.
“As you assume office, we wish you a successful, impactful, and people-oriented administration. The responsibilities before you are significant, and your roles as primary drivers of local governance place you at the forefront of community development, good governance, and peacebuilding across the State.
Bishop Innocent Solomon stressed that the mandate of TSBPCM is deeply rooted in fostering sustainable peace, mediating conflicts, strengthening community harmony, and supporting systems that promote stability and security.
According to him, the Bureau is committed to working closely with all Local Government Councils to advance the set objectives.
“We take this opportunity to reaffirm our readiness to collaborate with each of your administrations in the following key areas:
1. Conflict Prevention and Early Warning/Early Response (EWER):
Partnering with your councils to identify potential triggers of conflict and jointly develop mechanisms for swift and effective interventions.
2. Community Dialogue and Mediation:
Facilitating inclusive dialogue forums, stakeholder engagements, and mediation processes to address emerging disputes and foster trust among communities.
3. Peace Education and Sensitization Campaigns:
Conducting awareness programs on peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and communal harmony across local communities.
4. Strengthening Local Peace Structures:
Supporting the development and operational efficiency of Community Peace Committees and similar bodies within your jurisdictions.
5. Collaboration with Security Agencies and Traditional Institutions:
Working together to coordinate peace efforts involving traditional rulers, security formations, youth groups, and civil society organizations”.
