Taraba: Obi backs Kefas’ defection to APC

Special Adviser (S.A.) to Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State on Building Materials, Hon. (Chief) Uche Obi has given his support to the defection bid of Dr Agbu Kefas to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Hon. (Chief) Obi, a business man and Building Materials’ merchant based in Jalingo the State capital made his position known while speaking exclusively with our Correspondent in Jalingo the State capital.
Uche Obi, who said, Kefas’ defection is not unconnected to lack of federal government presence in the State, pointed out that the governor’s decision will attract development to the State.
“For the past two years of Kefas’ administration, federal government presence has eluded the State. Federal allocations to the States are not reaching Taraba State, just because, the leadership of the State has been in an opposition political party and not in the ruling party”,
The way things are going in Nigeria, APC is a moving train and Governor Kefas has decided to join the train. We don’t have any objections than to support and join him”,
“APC is the party that matters in this country presently, and it’s the ruling party under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu whose Renewed Hope Agenda is geared towards uniting the country”, he said.
As an appointee under Dr. Kefas’ cabinet, Chief Obi noted that where his boss decides to go, he has no other option than to join him. “We are in support of him going to APC and we are going there with him. It’s not only him that’s going to APC. No, he’s going there with all his cabinet members, including me, here”,
“He emerged as the Executive Governor of the State under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and today, he has decided to move from PDP to the All Progressive Congress (APC). His decision is fine and final. The only thing there is that, as a leader, he will take us to the promised land”,
“We are in support of him going to APC and we are going there with him. It’s not only him that’s going to APC. No, he’s going there with all his cabinet members, including me, here” he said.
The business mogul emphasized that Namnai bridge situated along Jalingo – Wukari road collapsed since last year and up till now, nobody wants to take a decisive decision or action about it. Jalingo – Wukari road is federal road”,
All federal government roads in Taraba State are dilapidated and full of pot holes. Look at the Mambilla Dam, this dam has been there over the years and abandoned”, he said.
Hon. (Chief) Obi however, called on residents of Taraba State, both young and old, members and supporters of various political parties in the State to join the Governor saying his defection will bring unity and peaceful co-existence among the people of the State.
