Taraba NUT Chairman Commends Gov Kefas for Implementing Minimum Wage

The Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Taraba State Chapter, Comrade Nathan Solomon, has commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his commitment to improving the welfare of teachers in the state for implementing the new minimum wage.

In a statement, Nathan Solomon described the Governor’s action as a landmark achievement that demonstrates his administration’s dedication to prioritizing education and ensuring better working conditions for teachers.

He further noted that this move will boost the morale of educators, leading to improved teaching standards and better academic performance across the state.

The NUT Chairman urged teachers to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture by remaining dedicated and committed to their duties by contributing positively to the educational development of the state.

He also called on other states to emulate Governor Agbu Kefas’ efforts in prioritizing the welfare of teachers.

Governor Kefas has been widely praised for his progressive policies aimed at uplifting the educational sector and addressing the needs of civil servants in the state.

In the meantime, Echo Express gathered that the Governor has already commenced the payment of the new Minimum Wage for the striking Lecturers of the Taraba State University, Jalingo with effect from the November 2024 salaries.
