Taraba Monarch, appoints GIMBA as Youths’ Warrior of Wurkum land

In his resolve towards sustaining peaceful coexistence among the Wurkum chiefdom globally, Alhaji Yakubu Abubakar Haruna Kirim, the Paramount Ruler of the Wurkum chiefdom of Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State has given a traditional title named, “Maga yakin Matasa kasan Wurkum (the Warrior of the Youths of Wurkum land) to Alhaji Tanimu Gimba Sunkani.

Alh. Tanimu Gimba, who hails from Sunkani, headquarters of Ardo Kola Local government area of the State, our Correspondent gathered was offered with the traditional title from the traditional council based on merit.
Addressing a gathering during the presentation of an endorsed letter of appointment from the chief to Alh. Gimba in Jalingo, the Galadima of Wurkum land, Prince Abdullahi Chiroma said Alh. Gimba’s traditional title was owing to his track records, relationship to Wurkum sons and daughters and past performances towards the development of the chiefdom.
Chiroma described Gimba as a loyal person to the Wurkum community, a youth who is always eager to give reasonable advice that can enhance unity and peace among the people especially those at the grassroot level.

“Gimba has the interest of the entire people of Wurkum land at heart, ‘he associates himself with the people whether old or young and respects all despite tribal, religious and political affiliations”,
“Considering all that I have mentioned about Gimba and many more, HRH Haruna found Gimba qualified and suitable to do the job as Maga yakin Matasa kasan Wurkum”, he said.
Expecting Gimba to put in his best, using his wealth of experience while carrying out his assignment cut across the entire Wurkum community, dan Galadima added that the Wurkum chiefdom doesn’t give titles based on money but on performance and merit.
According to him, Gimba will perform not only in Ardo Kola or Karim Lamido LGAs but the entire Wurkum kingdom all over the world.
Speaking in an interview, Auwal Yakubu (Auwal Jazz), an indigene of Karim Lamido appreciated the Royal Father and the Wurkum traditional council for finding Gimba worthy of the appointment as the Warrior of the youths of Wurkum land.
Auwal said Gimba is the kind of person needed in Wurkum traditional council because according to him, in all his struggles and endeavours are channeled towards helping the less privileged persons and the needy in the society.
He added that the tradition of the Wurkum chiefdom states that every son and daughter is fit for any appointment as long as you are capable and committed.
“One’s local government of origin, religion, among others pose no barriers. The Chief chooses people who are committed to work with him, that is why he appointed Gimba from Ardo Kola, whose track records are there for all to see”, he said.
In an interview with Newsmen shortly, the newly appointed Warrior of the Youths of the Wurkum land Alh. Tanimu Gimba Sunkani thanked HRH Alh. Yakubu Abubakar Haruna Kirim, the Chief of Wurkum and the entire Wurkum traditional council for believing in him.
Gimba further urged all youths of the area, both men and women to cooperate with him for the peace, security and unity of the Chiefdom to thrive.
He however, pledged to justify the confidence reposed on him by the Paramount Ruler and the entire Wurkum Chiefdom.
