Taraba LG Polls: Hon James Fwacha Auta Withdraws From Race

Ahead of the November, 2025 Local Government Council elections in Taraba State, one of the leading aspirants for the Chairmanship position in Bali Local Government Area of the state, Hon James Fwacha Auta has announced his withdrawal from the race.

Hon James Fwacha Auta who was to contest the position under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP announced his withdrawal from the race in a Press Release he personally signed, a copy of which was obtained by Echo Express in Jalingo, the State capital this Sunday.
Titled “Withdrawal of Candidature”, the Release states:
“I honourable James Fwacha Auta wishes to Withdraw my Candidature for the position of the Chairman of Bali local government area after series and serious discussions with stakeholders and my personal conviction.
“I am a party man who believes that power comes from God. I have decided to support my younger brother, Dr John Maikomo as his star shines brighter now. I will work with him to succeed so that together we can bring development to Bali local government area as a whole and unite the people of Suntai ward.
He therefore urged his supporters to join hands and work with Dr John Maikomo, saying they share the same dreams and visions.
“I thank the stakeholders of Bali 1 Constituency who supported and encouraged me to contest for the position.
By my action, I have fulfilled my promise to you that should the need arise for me to step down my ambitions, I will with all humility without grudges or bitterness.
“I want to finally thank the Executive Governor of Taraba state, Dr Agbu Kefas for his humanity and compassion to us in Suntai ward, may God bless and lead you according to his divine directions”.
