Taraba LG Polls: Hassan votes to usher in Dantsoho, Says, process Free & Fair

The Executive Chairman of Jalingo local Government Council of Taraba State Northeast Nigeria, Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan has described the Saturday’s local government council elections conducted by the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC) as credible, transparent, free and fair.

Hassan, who is the out-going Chairman of Jalingo local government Council stated this during an interview with journalists shortly after casting his vote at Angwan Primary Board Polling unit Jalingo.
Dr. Hassan further said the exercise was rancour free, no issues were observed and recorded. He expressed happiness with the electoral officials who according to him were already on ground waiting for the eligible voters to come out and cast their votes.
“Thank you very much, I just casted my vote and I thank God Almighty for counting us among the living. The process is very credible, very transparent, the electoral officials are ready for the business of the day and the people also waiting to cast their votes and I am happy that I have done mine. And I believe that the process will bring a very good result that all of us will desire”, he added.
Also speaking in an interview with reporters in his Jalingo residence was the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jalingo local government council, Hon. Nura Dantsoho who described the day as a memorable one in his political career.

Hon. Dantsoho further appreciated the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for creating what he described as an enabling environment for the people of the State to exercise their franchise.
“I want to thank the Almighty Allah and also thank my Principal, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas and I want to commend TSIEC for doing a wonderful job. As you can see, all the sensitive materials were evenly distributed to all nooks and crannies of the local government hence the commencement of the exercise”, he said.
Hon. Dantsoho further informed the people of the State that his administration will operate an open door policy with a view to carrying everybody along.
“My administration will be guided by an open door policy, an all inclusive one where everyone will be allowed for observations, suggestions, among others. All we need in Jalingo is unity, where everyone will come together and contribute towards the development of the local government”,
“As you can see, every body, both men and women, boys and girls were happy casting their votes, in short, the exercise was rancour free”, he added.
Our Correspondent who visited several polling units in Jalingo gathered that the turn-out of the electorates were not impressive enough but those who came out were seen casting their votes under a peaceful atmosphere. The exercise took place at various polling units in the local government area of the State.
Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission on Saturday, conducted local government council elections for chairmanship and councillorship positions across the 16 local government areas of the state.
