Taraba LG boss rates Kefas, others high on security

The Executive Chairman of Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq has rated the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas high for reducing the high rate of insecurity experienced across the 12 Wards of the council to the barest minimum.

Sadiq spoke exclusively with our Correspondent this Monday in Jalingo the State capital.
The Chairman said, Governor Kefas during his short stay in office has addressed the issues of kidnapping, banditry, among other security challenges that have been bedeviling the affairs of the people of the area.
“Governor Kefas always respond quickly and responsibly to issues concerning security, peaceful coexistence of the people of our dear Local Government Area”.
He explained that when he came on board with his team as Chairman and leaders of the council, there were high level of security challenges across the 12 Wards of the Local Government.
According to him, the residents were afraid of traveling from one location to the other because the roads were not safe but full of armed robbery, banditry and kidnappings.
While appreciating the efforts of the traditional rulers in the fight against insecurity across the council, Sadiq opined that the Royal fathers worked in synergy with security agencies, which synergy he pointed out, yielded the needed results of peaceful coexistence and security the people are presently enjoying.
“The tireless efforts of traditional rulers and security agencies and critical Stakeholders of the local government helped the council to address the menace of insecurity across the local government”,
“With the intervention of the traditional rulers as stated earlier, we constituted the local hunters and vigilantes who were saddled with the responsibilities of taking charges of our boarders and entrance of our local government”,
“I thank God with the type of traditional rulers I have in Gassol and I also want to thank God that I have hardworking security agencies like the Nigeria Army, the Police, the DSS, the civil Defence, among others”,
“When it comes to security issues, they don’t compromise, they don’t waste time, they don’t sleep. The security agencies don’t operate only in the town but also in the rural areas”,
“The vigilantes and hunters always engage these criminals and with the help of the Police, the Army, Civil Defence, they always drag the hoodlums to the mud. It was inview of their hard work and diligence that I decided to appoint a Vigilante as one of my Advisers. As I speak to you now, three groups of Vigilantes are at different locations, doing the needful”, Sadiq added.
