Taraba LG Boss calls on youths, residents to shun protest

The Executive Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Area, Hon. (Dr.) Aminu Jauro Hassan has called on  the youths and all residents of the Local Government to shun the planned nationwide protest slated for 1st August, 2024.
Jauro Hassan, who doubles as the State chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) made the call through a press statement he signed and issued to Journalists in Jalingo the State capital.
The Chairman, while restating the need to say no to the proposed nationwide protest averred that  embarking on it will positively affect the good work Governor Agbu Kefas is doing in the State.
“I passionately appeal to all youths, women, clubs and all associations within Jalingo Local Government Council to shun the proposed nation wide protest scheduled for August 1st 2024”,
“I urge you to reconsider your decisions to participate in this protest in the light of the substantial and commendable efforts our Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas has undertaken for the betterment of Taraba State”, he added.
Dr. Jauro Hassan in furtherance of his appeal for the youths and residents of the local government to shun the protest showcased Governor Kefas’ significant achievements for the past one year.
According to him, Governor Kefas on assumption of office introduced a minimum wage of about N30,000.00 and ensured that its payment was significantly made to improve the living standards of workers across the state.
“Education is the cornerstone of any thriving society. Our governor has instituted free education at both primary and secondary school levels, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn and succeed without the burden of fees”,
“Understanding the financial challenges faced by families, His Excellency has introduced a 50% discount on all tertiary institutions, making higher education more accessible to our youth”,
“Settlement of Gratuities, in a commendable move to honour our retirees, the Governor has allocated 2 billion Naira for the payment of state-level gratuities and 500 million Naira for local government level gratuities. This act of financial commitment has provided relief to many who have served our state diligently”,
 “Recognizing the backbone of our economy, His Excellency has provided a 50% discount on fertilizers and mini and compact tractors to our farmers. This initiative aims to boost agricultural productivity and ensure food security for our communities”,
 “Humanitarian Aid, in a gesture of goodwill and support, food and non-food items have been distributed freely to all 16 local governments, ensuring that the needs of our people are met during challenging times”, he said.
Given these substantial efforts and achievements of governor Kefas, Dr  Jauro Hassan noted that Governor Kefas was deeply committed to the development and welfare of the State.
He reiterated that proposed protest, might undermine the above stated ongoing efforts and paint a picture of disunity at a time when solidarity and support are crucial.
“I urge the youths, women, clubs, and associations within Jalingo local government to acknowledge and support the positive strides of his excellency the Executive Governor by refraining from participating in the scheduled protest”,
“Let us instead come together to engage in constructive dialogue, work collaboratively, and support the continuous progress of our state”, he added.
