Taraba Lawmakers Screen LG Pension Board Executive Nominees

In its efforts towards complementing the moving forward agenda of the Taraba State Government, the lawmakers of the State House of Assembly, Thursday screened the Chairman and six members of the Local Government Pension Board Executive Nominees who were approved by the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas.
Our Correspondent gathered that the chairman, State Assembly Committee on Local Government, Tradition and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt. Hon. Abel Peter Diah, who is the member representing Mbamnga Constituency of Sardauna LGA of the State was the chairman of the screening Committee.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the exercise held at the state Assembly complex in Jalingo, Rt. Hon. Diah who applauded the nominees’ performances, said they were qualified for the positions approved for them by Governor Agbu Kefas.
Abel Diah said their individual appearances and presentations coupled with their work experiences from their curriculum vitae were excellent enough hence the need to ask them to take a bow during the screening exercise.
“Gentle men of the Press, we have just witnessed the screening of the Chairman and members of the Local Government Pension Board’s executive nominees”,
“We have done our job as far as this screening is concerned. We will also prepare our reports and submit to the State House of Assembly who have the powers to either confirm them or not”,
“But as a committee, we have to make our necessary recommendations that they are all qualified, and it is our belief that they will work as a team to justify the confidence reposed in them so as not to fail His Excellency, the Executive Governor who gave them the mandate”, he said.
The local government Pension Board executive nominees who appeared before the State lawmakers for screening were Senator Dahiru Bako, Chairman who hails from Gassol LGA of the State.
Members of the were; Emmanuel D. Umar – Lau, Augustine Katakata – Yorro, Yusuf Tanimu Njeke – Sardauna, Audu A. U. Sule – Kurmi, Musa Ada – Wukari and Bitrus Rimamshang – who hails from Ussa local government area of the State.
Speaking in an interview also, the Chairman, Dahiru Bako appreciated Governor Agbu Kefas for finding them worthy to serve under his administration.
While commending the State lawmakers for a cordial and friendly screening exercise, Bako pledged to put in his wealth of experience in the discharge of his duties.

“We will never allow the local government system under our watch to collapse, we will do our best to see that we bring changes to the local government system”, he added.
