Taraba: Lawmaker, Muwalid debunks alleged attacks by constituents

A member of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Muwalid, representing Gassol I Constituency, has debunked media reports, alleging that he was attacked and beaten by some persons from his constituency, due to under-performance.

Hon. Muwalid, who denied the allegation while speaking with journalists, after his wedding fatiha at his residence in Jalingo, said the claim was false, baseless and put together by mischief makers who according to him are enemies of his political career.
The lawmaker further asserted that as a state legislator, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he has maintained and enjoyed a cordial working relationship with the people of Gassol I constituency, stressing that he has no issues with them.
“I have maintained and enjoyed a cordial working relationship with my people since I came onboard under the platform of APC, to represent them at the state assembly in Jalingo. The people of Gassol I state constituency have remained supportive to my representation and I want to assure you that they are always ready to stand by me”, he said.
Highlighting his achievements with some of the projects he has executed for the people of Gassol I constituency, Hon. Muwalid who gave kudos to Governor Agbu Kefas for always supporting him, said he constructed three blocks of classrooms in Gassol to improve the students’ learning environments.
“I have provided a 45,000-litre capacity water tank to boost access to clean water. I also drilled boreholes in various communities to address water shortages. I have facilitated employment opportunities for many of my constituents at the local government, state and federal levels, sometimes using my personal resources to support the process”, he noted
Reaffirming his commitment to continue delivering meaningful development projects and improving the welfare of the people of Gassol I Constituency, Hon. Muwalid added that he has awarded scholarships to students on several occasions to support their education and ease the financial burden on their families.

Our Correspondent gathered that, Hon. Musa Muwalid on Saturday, married his second wife, Hajiya Rukayatu Muhammadu Suleiman Dandauda, in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
The wedding Fatiha attracted family members, friends, political associates and well-wishers from within and outside the state. Shortly after the ceremony, the lawmaker expressed gratitude to all those who attended despite their busy schedules. He also appreciated his family and that of the bride for their support and cooperation in making the occasion successful.
A family friend, Malam Sani Adamu Gunduma, during an interview urged the couple to uphold Islamic teachings in their marriage and to avoid anything that could damage their relationship.

An uncle to Hon. Muwalid’s wife, Alhaji Hamisu Suleiman Dandauda during an interview also, advised the couple to live together in peace and harmony.
He thanked guests for sharing in their joy and prayed for a safe journey back home for everyone who attended.
