Bishop Calls For Prayers, Peace and Unity

The Bishop of CLBC House of David Rt Rev Innocent Rubiruka Solomon has admonished Tarabans to unite under the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas by promoting oneness and togetherness in the face of challenging and difficult moments the state is currently passing through.

The Bishop made the passionate appeal in a Press Statement in Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital.
“Recent happenings paints a picture of heightened insecurity in some parts of the state that is deeply worrisome. The Killing of The Chancanji Traditional Monarch and his son on Takum Wukari road and now again in the same axis, the killing of six citizens who are serving the state and the nation in highly placed offices in our institutions in the state”.
Rev. Innocent Rubiruka Solomon equally recalled how severally at different times, the military in its gallantry and brave efforts were able to nab armed bandits with sophisticated weapons in the state, pointing to some dangerous elements and networks trying to find safe heaven in Taraba’s peaceful environment.
“It is sad also to recall the incidents of skirmishes within some of our churches in the state leading to the timely intervention of the state government to seal some churches, an unfortunate development that could have been avoided.
“All the above and many more worrisome developments like the apparent drought being experienced in the state with a prolong period of lack of rainfall in this most critical farming season portents moments of serious apprehensions and therefore this clarion call to unite and seek the face of God”.
According to him, ordinarily and globally, nations are faced with harsh and unfriendly economic realities, aside wars that are ongoing in different parts of the world with global negative impacts.
“To say the least there is extreme poverty, hunger and general deficit of resources that are needed to keep soul and body together. These situations are enough consequences to deal with.
“We must join hands and in solidarity demonstrate the resilience we are known for to tackle our common challenges in this difficult and near unbearable circumstances of our time knowing that with prayers and trust in the Almighty we are bound to overcome them”.
In this same spirit, the Bishop commend the various calls for prayers by different bodies and organizations and well meaning leaders of the society.
“In the midst of abundant natural resources that abound in our state and the quality of leadership that His Excellency the Governor of Taraba State Dr Agbu Kefas is providing, the sky is our starting point with God on our side as we resolve to stand together and continue to pray and remain peaceful and in solidarity with each other”.
