Taraba Govt Signs MOU With Algorand Foundation on Chain Block Technology

The Taraba state Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Algorand Foundation to train various stakeholders and young people on block chain technology.
The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas was represented his Deputy, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali who signed the document on behalf of the Governor.
The ceremony took place at NIN Hotel Jalingo, the state capital.
This agreement is inline with the policies of the Governor of Taraba state, Dr Agbu Kefas which is focused on the empowerment of youth and women through knowledge acquisition and impactment which will in turn be expected to be translated into economic growth and financial independence through technological advancement inline with the twenty first century trend.
It is against this background that the Taraba state Government and the Algorand foundation put pen on paper through the ministry of Digital Economy and innovations to formally engage youth and other relevant stakeholders on a week long block chain and other latest gadgets training for future benefits.
Governor Agbu Kefas represented by the Taraba state Deputy, Governor Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali informed participants that the State Government is committed to partner with any organizations that are technicality oriented which will ultimately translate the state to a technology driven society.
He called on the participants to reciprocate the gesture by paying adequate attention to achieve the expected outcomes.
The Commissioner for Digital Economy and innovations, Hon Nonso and that of the Science and Technology, Hon Muslim Aruwa, described the action of Dr Agbu Kefas as highly commendable having created an enabling environment for the training which they said is the first of its kind in the state.
Country Head, Algorand Foundation, Ben Onouha, his colleagues and other stakeholders, described the benefits of the training as huge and commended Taraba state Government for its foresight in keying into the programme.
