TARABA GOVT PARTNERS ECOWAS BANK ON AGRICULTURE 

The Taraba State Government is partnering the ECOWAS Investment and Development Bank to boost the agriculture sector, especially dry season farming, rice processing and construction of dams for irrigation in the State.

The Taraba State Commissioner for Energy and Economic Development, Engr. Naomi Tanko Agbu, made the disclosure when she led a delegation on courtesy visit to the Aku Uka and Chairman of Taraba State Council of Chiefs, Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali, Matakhitswen in his palace in Wukari.

According to the Commissioner, Governor Agbu Kefas, remains resolute to boost the agriculture sector which is the mainstay of the economy of the State.

 

She further disclosed that the Governor has plans to provide solar power in Jalingo, the State capital, as well as connect Bibinu-Baissa-Abong in Kurmi Local Government Area to electricity.

After the courtesy visit, the State Government delegation, led by the Commissioner, proceeded to Tsokundi town for the inspection of a rice farm and factory site.
