Taraba Govt Hands Over Rustle Cattles, Sheeps To Owner

Taraba State Government has handed over 65 Cows, 73 sheep, 11 goats and three donkeys to their rightful owner in Jalingo, the state capital.
The animals were recovered from cattle rustlers by the men and officers of the Six Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Jalingo.
It could be recalled that the Taraba State Government on the 2nd July, 2025, constituted a committee to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the intercepted suspected rustled Cattles arrested on the 1st July, 2025, by the troops of the 6 Brigade at Mile Six in Jalingo on their way to Karim Lamido local government area of the state.
After due diligence, the Committee on Wednesday handed over 65 cattle, 73 sheep, 11 Goats and 3 Donkeys to Abubakar Audu from Toungo local government area of Adamawa State, who is the rightful owner of the animals.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of Jalingo local government area of Taraba State, and ALGON Chairman, Alhaji Hassan Aminu Jauro, and the Permanent Secretary Home Affairs Services, SGS office, Mr Constantine Joel, said a total of 138 Cattles were intercepted and that the remaining ones are believed to belong to a suspect who is at large.
They said the committee’s doors are open to anyone whose cattle have been rustled and who has proof of ownership.
The Taraba State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Alhaji Yau Ibrahim Barewa, the Secretary of MACBAN in Toungo local government area of Adamawa State and the owner of the animals, Alhaji Abubakar Audu, all expressed gratitude to the Taraba State Government and the security agencies for the success recorded by intercepting the animals.
They also thanked the Government for handing over some of the animals to their rightful owner after a diligent investigation.
This gesture is indeed a success recorded against cattle rustling in the state and with such tempo from the security agencies, more successes are on the way.
