The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has announced the reallocation of land by Taraba government for the construction of the Federal Secretariat Complex in Jalingo.

Gov Agbu Kefas of Taraba State

Alhaji Ahmad Rabiu, Controller of Housing, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Jalingo gave the hint on Thursday while speaking to newsmen in Jalingo.

Rabiu said that the Six hectares parcel of land newly approved site was part of the Taraba State Broadcasting Service (TSBS) office located along the Jalingo-Mile Six Federal High Way in Jalingo.

The Controller commended Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State for resolving the earlier controversy surrounding the allocation of the former site for the project.

He also said the reallocation which was made through the Bureau for Land and Survey, directed the contractor handling the Project to relocate the Transmission Mass used by the TSBS to another location before the commencement of the project.

Rabiu said that the contractor was working hard to relocate the transmission mass as directed by the government to hit the ground running.

He gave assurance that the job would commence in earnest as soon as all those encumbrances are resolved.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari approved the construction of the Federal Secretariat Complex Project in 2023 to UYK Nigeria Ltd for a period of 18 months.

Former Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State allocated a Five hectre parcel of land for the project.

The project was however, stalled when the present administration reallocated the same site for the construction of Kefas Ultra Modern Shopping Complex. (NAN)
