Taraba Govt Distributed 175 Keke ambulances to PHCs

In its efforts to enhance health care delivery system in the State, the Taraba State government recently purchased and distributed 175 pentacycle popularly known as Keke ambulances worth over 2 billion naira to all the primary health facilities in 168 wards of the State.
The Taraba State Commissioner for Health, Dr Bondiya Buma made the disclosure recently when he received a team of Journalists on Health watch who paid him a courtesy call in his office in Jalingo.

The acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mr. jibo Danjuma who received the journalists on behalf of the Commissioner said the aim of the programme was to assist the people of the state especially pregnant women, children and other patients in times of emergency.
He stated that already, health workers have been trained locally to enhance their capacity and efficient service delivery in the rural areas.
Dr. Buma called on the people of the State to always rally round the present government to a achieve its set health objectives.
He explained that as an interim measure, areas that lack essential health facilities or hard to reach or due to population explosions, the Keke ambulances will be provided to offer stop gap services in critical times of need.
