Taraba Govt Approves N175M Relief Package For Maiduguri Flood Victims

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has approved a N175 million relief package to support the people and government of Borno State over the recent flood disaster that ravaged most parts of Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

The relief package was announced in a Press Release signed by the Taraba State Commissioner for Information and Reorientation, Barr Zainab Usman Jalingo.
A breakdown of the figures showed that N100 million is to support the Government of Borno State in its ongoing relief efforts in response to the flooding in the state.
The sum of N50 million is meant for the Taraba State community residing in Borno, to assist them in coping with the impact of the flooding.
The remaining N25 million is to be the Borno Emirate Council as a gesture of solidarity to aid in alleviating the effects of the flooding in Borno State.
“In the same vein, relief materials, including bags of rice, vegetable oil, and blankets, have already been dispatched to Borno State to succour the effects of the flooding.
“The Taraba State Government remains committed to the humanitarian needs of its citizens and is always prepared to collaborate with other states for the benefit of all”.
