Taraba Gov Receives Protesting Youths, Call For Support To Create Jobs

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu kefas has called on Tarabans to support his administration’s efforts in creating jobs for youths.

The Governor made the call when he received protesting youths who are clamouring for an end to bad governance in Nigeria at the Government House gate in Jalingo, the State Capital.

 

He admitted that youths are passing through many challenges amidst hunger in the land, stressing that it is the responsibility of government to ensure that the youths get the best.

 

Governor Agbu Kefas assured them of his resolve to assist them especially when they organized themselves in groups.

 

The Governor disclosed that before the year runs out, ninety percent of the youth will be empowered and engaged.

He announced that the education trust fund to provide loans to students in tertiary institutions is already in place, adding that with the approval of the State Executive Council, he is going to commit two billion naira to the fund, explaining that the loans can only be repaid after graduation and employment.

 

Governor Agbu Kefas said youth will also be trained and empowered on block moulding to enable them participate in the ongoing reconstruction of schools.

The Governor said electric cars bought from china will soon arrive the state, with the youth being the major beneficiaries.

 

He assured the youth that he has them in mind and would do everything possible to improve their living conditions, urging them to continue cooperate and support government.

 

Governor Agbu Kefas encouraged the people to be their brother’s keepers and equally extend a hand of fellowship to the needy.

 

Some of the youth who spoke their minds at the meeting, said they were happy with the Governor’s leadership style and pleaded with the governor to create platforms to engage more youths to be taken off the streets.
