Taraba Gov Receives Praise For Supporting Fight Against Crime

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu kefas has been commended for his commitment and support to security agencies in the state in their efforts to fight crime and criminality.
The commendation was made by the Director of the National Center for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons, North East zonal office, Major General Abubakar Adamu (Rtd) during the committee’s visit to the Governor at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo.

He specifically commended Governor Agbu Kefas for the support he has been rendering to security agencies in the state especially the Nigerian army in fighting crimes and criminalities across the border lines of Taraba state.
According to him, the danger of having small arms and light weapons in the society is enormous, and therefore requires a lot of commitment from all stakeholders in the state to address the challenge.
He said the Center is collaborating with all stakeholders to sensitize the people particularly those at the grassroot on the dangers of the availability of small arms and light weapons and the need to discard the unwholesome practices for the good of the Nation.
Major General Abubakar Adamu (Rtd), said the National Center for the Control of Small Arms, and Light Weapons was established to stop the influx of small arms and light weapons.
He stressed that the greatest of Nigeria challenge is the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in the country.
The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas represented by the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Right Hon John kizito Bonzena, who described the establishment of the National Center for Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons as the right thing at the right time for the people of Nigeria.
The Governor assured the team of his continuous support in whatever way possible to fasttrack the process of fighting crimes and criminality in the state and by extension the country at large.
