Taraba Gov Receives Chinese Consul General, Pledge Stronger Bilateral Relations

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering strong bilateral relations with China.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Consul General of China in Lagos, Yan Yuqing, the Governor highlighted ongoing collaborations and future prospects between Taraba and the Asian nation.

He disclosed that the state government had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), signaling the start of several key developmental projects.

Governor Kefas noted that the presence of Chinese officials in the state signifies an open door for business and development.

He appreciated the support Taraba State has received from China so far and requested even more collaboration in critical sectors.

He recalled his recent visit to China and expressed optimism about the outcomes of such engagements.

The Governor assured that his administration would work closely with Chinese partners to improve the lives of the people of Taraba State.

In her remarks, Consul General Yan Yuqing said she has been in Nigeria for two years and that this was her first visit to Taraba State.

She commended the state’s rich potential and expressed China’s interest in exploring areas of mutual benefit.

Yan described Nigeria and China as having a strong working relationship and emphasized that China is ready to support Taraba’s development agenda.

 

She praised Governor Kefas as a visionary leader and a true friend of China, extending an invitation to him to lead a delegation to China for further discussions.

To mark the occasion, Governor Kefas presented a souvenir to the Consul General as a token of goodwill and appreciation.
