Taraba Gov Mourns Shiekh Bauchi, Pays Glowing Tributes

The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has mourned the demise of a renowned Islamic scholar, Shiekh Dahiru Bauchi, who passed on this Thursday at the age of 102 .

The Governor’s condolence message is contained in a Press Release signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications, Mr Emmanuel Bello.

The Governor described the late Shiekh Dahiru Usman Bauchi as not only a legendary Islamic scholar but also a major force that has shaped generations for decades with his teachings and ways of life.

He said the death of the iconic teacher is a terrible blow to the nation, noting that the services of the cleric are most needed now that the country is experiencing challenges.

Governor Kefas, however, noted that the Shiekh has left a tremendous body of work to guide the nation on the topic of religious harmony.

Furthermore, Dr. Kefas extol the personal qualities of Shiekh Dahiru, who he described as humble, humane, and very tolerant.

Governor Kefas therefore enjoined all and sundry to emulate the exemplary leadership of the world-class scholar, saying the nation must continue to live true to the discipline and decency of the deceased.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kefas said Nigerians must learn to continue living together in peace with each other, irrespective of their faiths.

He emphasised the need to be tolerant and respect the views of others, reiterating his commitment to treat all Taraba State indigenes as equal irrespective of their religious or tribal affiliations.
