Taraba Gov Mourns Elder Statesman, Baba Abama, pays glowing tributes

The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has described the death of elder statesman, Mr. Anthony Jukunson Abama as an unmitigated loss for the state and the entire nation.

Baba Abama, who passed on at the age of 93, is being laid to rest today in Jos.
In a tribute, Dr. Kefas said Baba Abama lived a very colourful life with many testimonies of his good works.
He said Baba Abama will continue to be celebrated, noting that Baba played very critical roles in the creation of Taraba state from the defunct Gongola state, among the nationalistic efforts of the late power brokers.
Describing him further as a consumate administrator, Dr. Kefas recalls his works as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), in several states who worked hard to entrench a culture of electoral excellence.
Dr. Kefas noted that “Baba was a seasoned democrat and very last of his likes in this times.
“He was a library of our collective history and an archive of wisdom. I have benefited immensely from his great bank of ancient and modern wisdom.”
Dr. Kefas added that Baba represented the beauty of our heroes past who worked tirelessly to ensure the country progressed well in the path of core values and virtues.
Dr. Kefas condoled with the entire immediate family of Baba Abama, Plateau state, and Taraba state, stressing that today’s funeral is a celebration of life of excellence.
