Taraba Gov Launches ICT Workshop To Modernize Civil Service

From Hilary John

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has launched a five-day ICT training workshop for senior civil servants and newly elected local government officials under the theme “Rebuilding the Taraba State Civil Service for Optimum Performance Using ICT.”

The program aims to modernize governance, boost efficiency, and enhance service delivery across the state.

At TY Danjuma House, Governor Kefas urged participants to adopt digital tools and global best practices, stressing that “the future of Taraba depends on a responsive, professional, and efficient civil service.”

He also outlined plans for school renovations, road construction, and rural development projects in every local government area.

Dr. Ahmed Hamidu Kara, Head of Service, commended the governor for timely salary payments, describing it as a morale booster.

He added that the workshop would equip officials with practical ICT skills and a clear roadmap for improved productivity, transparency, and governance.

The program brings together permanent secretaries, directors, local government chairmen, vice chairmen, and senior council officials.

Sessions focus on ICT application and strategic leadership to strengthen service delivery at both state and local levels.
