Taraba Gov Inaugurates Bio-Entrepreneurship Agency, Post-TARAVEST Implementation Committee

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has inaugurated the Governing Board of the Taraba State Bio-entrepreneurship Innovation and Solution Agency, alongside the Post-TARAVEST Summit Implementation Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony held at TY Danjuma House, Jalingo, Governor Kefas described the initiative as “a seed planted today that will grow into an enduring legacy of innovation and wealth creation.”
The governor highlighted Taraba’s rich endowments, including vast forests, fertile plains, abundant water bodies, medicinal plants, and a diverse ecosystem, stressing that these resources are not just for admiration but treasures to be harnessed for economic prosperity.
According to him, the world is undergoing a bio-economy revolution where biology, technology, and entrepreneurship converge to provide solutions in agriculture, medicine, energy, and environmental management.
He explained that the newly established agency will be responsible for identifying, researching, and commercializing the state’s biological resources.
Governor Kefas further disclosed that the agency will establish innovation hubs across all local government areas and special development zones, while also promoting climate-smart solutions that protect the environment and drive economic growth.
On the Post-TARAVEST Summit Committee, he said it will serve as a vehicle to mobilize capital and transform Taraba’s comparative advantage into bankable, job-creating projects in key sectors such as agriculture, energy, transport, health, and tourism.
“The committee will operate as the state’s investment front door platform,” Kefas stated, charging members to produce a 100-day action plan that ensures every naira leveraged through TARAVEST translates into visible improvements including roads, factories, school upgrades, and job creation.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman of the TARAVEST Committee and Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Ndudi Elumelu, thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in the team to drive the initiative.

He noted that the TARAVEST summit attracted over 600 investors and captains of industry, placing Taraba firmly on the global investment map.
